I recently found out that I have been named the New Mexico High School Volunteer of the Year for the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. As a part of this award I received and all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. in early May, and engraved Silver Medallion, and $1,000. I have also been entered into the running to be a National Winner. 10 National Winners, 5 High School and 5 Middle School, will be selected from the 102 State Winners. These National Winners will receive an additional $5,000, a Gold Medallion, a trophy, and an additional $5,000 to donate to a charity of their choice. For more information about the award, and to read about other State Winners, please visit http://spirit.prudential.com/view/page/soc
