Some exciting things have been happening! The hospital was contacted by a person wanting to donate 1000 books to the library. While that is amazing it left us with a problem! Where to put them? The original storage space was replaced long ago by a dedicated place in facilities storage but even that couldn't hold another 1000! So shelving has been ordered and now an expansion of the library is in the works. Possibly two more shelves within the hospital! I'll keep you posted! Also, I currently have one main donation center, the hospital, and then only if absolutely necessary can books be taken to Girl Scout Council. Barnes and Noble Westside sent me an email an they are willing to be a donation site and hold fundraising bookfairs. This is still in the works so don't take books they're quite yet, but donating to the Giving Library might be just a little bit easier in the future.
As you know, if you read the post below, I have been awarded the Girl Scout Gold Award. This means that in theory this project is over and sustainable, which it is, but I will still be involved with the project for at least another year. Eventually some things will be passed off to others but for now I am still the main person behind this project. And just to clarify, there is NO DEADLINE for donating books! The library will continue to need books for as long as children and families want them!
Thank you for reading this and thank you for supporting Start My Library!
Have a great day
