Are you a Girl Scout? Do you want to earn the Gold Award? or the Silver or Bronze? Do you have Questions? First, start here Secondly, check out this Still have questions? That's probably a good thing! These are big projects and you probably have a million questions right now. Let's see if I can help with some of them. Make sure you look at this site, http://www.girlscouts.org/program/highest_awards/ This can be a lot of information and you may be thinking to yourself, Do I really want to do this? YES! I know how you feel but trust me you can do it and I have a few tips to help you along the way. Start Early- You don't need to wait until your senior year to start this project, in fact you don't want to! Start the project during your freshman year or as soon as you decide you want to earn the gold. Stay Organized-This is key. I started a dedicated email and documents folder just for my project. This makes it easier to find what you need later. Dream Big!- But stay realistic. You probably won't end world hunger but you can help end it in your community and you never know how much your project will grow. Communication is Key- Seriously. Make sure those around you know what you are doing and how they can help you. Also, talk to your Council, they are there to help you! Use Resources Wisely- And not just in the saving the world sense. Talk to everyone you know. Family members, local businesses friends, senators, congressmen, state government representatives, anyone! You never know what they have to offer and what opportunities they will bring. Stay Positive- A bad attitude never got anyone anywhere. More Questions?- Email them to, StartMyLibrary@Gmail.com and I will try to answer them or help you in any way I can!
Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails I can help you a bit more. I am a prior member of the Gold Award Committee, the people you present your proposal and final project to, and can help answer your specific questions. I should be able to answer any of your questions about specific rules and regulations and also give you tips on your project. If you are just thinking about beginning, are writing your proposal, are in the middle of your project, or are putting together your final report, I can help! Email me if you have an questions, concerns, or are just sort of stuck in your project and don't know where to go. I've been there too and will be able to answer your questions or point you in the direction of someone who can. Best wishes as you Go Gold! ~Annika StartMyLibrary@gmail.com
